Shahanoor Mamun is one of Bangladesh's most prominent and talented contemporary artists, celebrated for his mastery of watercolor and his lyrical, semi-abstract depictions of the nation's landscapes.
Born in 1986 in Dapunia, a village in Mymensingh, Mamun's artistic vision was shaped from a young age by the natural beauty of his surroundings, particularly the Brahmaputra and Sutia rivers. This deep connection to nature remains the core theme of his work.
He pursued his formal education at the prestigious Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Dhaka, where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in 2011 and his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in 2013, both from the Department of Ceramics
